Joining Farhan Akhtar’s MARD campaign are Sachin Tendulkar and Mahesh Babu among others including Yuvraj Singh and Shaan. The initiative, that stands for Man Against Rape and Discrimination, was started to raise awareness about gender equality. Javed Akhtar wrote a poem for MARD that redefines masculinity. Mahesh Babu, in sharing the poem in Telugu, expressed, “Respect, empathy, and strength of character are the real traits of a man. He who stands for equality and brings kindness into his every action is a #RealMard!” Tendulkar, meanwhile, recorded the poem in Marathi at Shankar-Ehsan-Loy’s studio.
