Kareena Kapoor's 'Heroine': A timeless classic set for possible re-release, Says Director Madhur Bhandarkar

Kareena Kapoor Khan's 2012 film 'Heroine' is seen as a classic today. Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, this film is considered one of Kareena's best films. However, did you know that Madhur had to face a lot of criticism while making this film, because he took inspiration from the lives of real actresses in the film.

According to media reports, Madhur revealed, "I took a lot of similarities and inspirations from the lives of real actresses and showed them in the film, but I had to face a lot of criticism for this." He also said that he does not understand why the same people who appreciate films like 'Traffic Signal' and 'Corporate' had a problem with 'Heroine'.

Madhur also said that Kareena herself believes that 'Heroine' is one of the best films of her career. According to the director, "Kareena is very proud of this film. Even today when we meet or talk, Kareena always says that 'Heroine' is one of her favorite films."

He further said that they are considering releasing the film again in theaters and talks are going on with PVR in this regard. Praising Kareena's character 'Mahi', Madhur said, "Kareena has played this character very well. Especially in the last 25 minutes of the film, she made it memorable with her acting."

Apart from Kareena, Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda were in the lead roles in the film, while actors like Shahana Goswami, Divya Dutta, Helen and Lillete Dubey played supporting roles. Madhur Bhandarkar also said that even today the audience tells him that Kareena has made this film great with her acting and charisma.
