Zarina Wahab breaks silence on Jiah Khan suicide case: 'My son suffered unjustly, Karma took 10 years'

Actress Jiah Khan's suicide case in 2013 was in the news a lot. Now, Zarina Wahab, mother of actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was accused in this case, has once again spoken on this matter. In an interview to Waves, Zarina said about Jiah's suicide that the actress had attempted suicide four-five times before this. She said, "My son was so unlucky that when his turn came, something like this happened."

Zarina further told in this interview that this case also affected her son Sooraj's professional life. She said, "We all have seen bad times, but I believe one thing that if you ruin someone's life by lying, consider it a loan. You will get it back with interest. Karma says we waited because he was not guilty. It took 10 years, but he came out of it and I am happy." However, she also said that she does not want to talk much on this case, as she does not want to belittle herself by making a statement on it.

It is worth noting that Jiah Khan was found dead at her mother's house in Mumbai on June 3, 2013. After this, her then boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide. The case was based on a six-page note of Jiah, which mentioned her and Sooraj's relationship, physical abuse and mental torture. However, Sooraj Pancholi was later acquitted in this case due to lack of evidence. The CBI special court declared him innocent.

Talking about Jiah Khan's film career, she made her debut in 2007 with the film 'Nishabd', in which she appeared with Amitabh Bachchan. After this, she got great popularity from the film 'Ghajini' released in 2008. She appeared with Aamir Khan in this film. Apart from this, Jiah also worked in the film 'Housefull' released in 2010, which was directed by Sajid Khan.
