Recently, a case of fraud has come to light in the name of actress Sana Khan. According to the police, about Rs 4.5 crore was collected through crowd funding in the name of treatment of a four-year-old girl. Whereas in reality no such girl was either ill or undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital. The matter was complained by social worker Aarif Sheikh, after which the police have registered a case against three accused.
The matter is that through Piyush Jain's app, money was sought for the treatment of a four-year-old girl named Inara Qazi. It was claimed that the girl is suffering from a serious disease called spinal muscular atrophy and is undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital. In the video, Piyush Jain said the cost of treatment was Rs 17 crore. Also, in the video shared on the app, the girl's parents were seen pleading for financial help from Sana Khan. Sana Khan's pictures were also used in this video.
The matter came to light when social activist Arif Ahmed Shaikh of Mahim, Mumbai found the video suspicious. He went to Hinduja Hospital and inquired about the treatment of a girl named Inara. There it was found that no such girl was admitted there.
When Arif Shaikh was convinced that the case was fake, he filed a petition in the local court of Kurla demanding an investigation into the matter. The court, while hearing the petition, ordered the Matunga police to investigate the matter. During the investigation, the police found that the accused had so far collected more than Rs 4 crore in the name of crowdfunding. These people spent this amount for their personal use.
The police have now registered a case against Nikhat Khan, Naufil Qazi and Piyush Jain. Although these people have not been arrested yet, the police will soon interrogate them.
