The actor told why he got it done.

Rajkumar Rao recently revealed in an interview why he asked his wife Patralekha to apply sindoor to him during the wedding. He said, "It was a very impulsive moment. I thought, why should only she apply sindoor, wear a mangalsutra and wear bangles? She is following so many rituals, and I am just wearing a ring. I just told her, 'You should also apply sindoor to me. It should be equality.'"

Patralekha was quite surprised by this. Regarding this, Rajkumar said, "I think she got a little emotional at that time, but both of us were very happy about the wedding. This moment later became very big, but at that time we did not see it as doing something different. She knows me well, and it was according to my nature. But I am happy that this moment touched the hearts of many people."

Rajkumar also said that during the wedding he paid attention to every mantra recited by the Pandit. He said, "Even while taking the Pheras, we asked the pandit the meaning of every mantra. We had objections to some of Patralekha's vows. Like, there was a vow that she cannot get angry at me. I said, how can this happen? This is not fair."
