Actress Kalki Koechlin made her film debut with Anurag Kashyap's 'Dev D'. Kalki talked about the challenges she faced in the early days of her career and revealed that after 'Dev D' she did not get any film offers for almost two years.

Kalki said, "The professional journey has been very difficult for me. After Dev D, I did not get any film for almost two years. I think my next film was 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'."

During this difficult time, Kalki worked in theatre and produced a play, for which she also received an award of Rs 1 lakh. When asked how she managed her expenses during this time, she revealed that she ate cheap food like vada pav and travelled by local train. Kalki also revealed that people recognise her and are surprised how she can go out without a bodyguard.

Kalki recalled this difficult phase and said, "I learned a lot at that time. Now I have matured a lot. Now I work very thoughtfully and decide which work I should do." She also admitted that she did some work only for economic reasons, especially corporate events, so that she could be financially empowered.

Kalki said that now she is more conscious about her work and is ready for new challenges in her career. All the experiences she gained during her journey are very important for her and she has learned a lot from these experiences.
