Vikrant Massey's sudden retirement announcement on December 1 has left his fans in deep grief. In his Instagram post, Vikrant revealed that he will now stay away from acting and will pursue his role as a husband, father and son in the future. Meanwhile, an old statement of Vikrant Massey is again going viral on social media, in which he expressed concern over the safety of his 9-month-old son Vardhan.
Recently, Vikrant revealed his fear during the promotion of the film The Sabarmati Report. The film had sparked controversy as it was based on the 2002 Godhra train fire. According to media reports, Vikrant had said in an interview that he was receiving threats through social media and WhatsApp, in which his 9-month-old son Vardhan was also being targeted.
Vikrant had said, "I am receiving threats on social media and WhatsApp. These people know that I became a father 9 months ago. They are dragging my newborn son into this issue. I am worried about his safety. What kind of society are we living in? It is depressing, though not scary. If I was scared, we would not have made this film and reached out to people." The film also stars Vikrant along with Raashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra in lead roles. The film depicts the tragic incident of fire in the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express in 2002 and the events that followed. Despite the controversies, the film has received critical acclaim and was screened at the 2024 International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the cast of the film and praised their hard work.
The film was released on November 15 and has so far been declared tax-free in states like Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The film has collected Rs 22 crore at the national box office. Vikrant's commitment and courage towards the film has impressed the audience, while concerns about his safety have increased further.
