Pushpa 2's advance booking: Telugu version soars while other languages struggle

While some big figures are coming out regarding the advance booking of the film 'Pushpa 2', its actual figures are telling a different story. The advance booking of this mega budget film starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Fasil and Sri Leela is claimed to have reached around Rs 30 crore, which is mainly due to corporate booking and block seats, but in reality only tickets worth Rs 20 crore have been sold so far.

The most craze for this film is being seen in the Telugu speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Here, the film has earned the same amount with the advance booking of only three thousand shows, which the film did not earn even with the advance booking of four times the shows in Hindi. The film is not getting any special attention in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

Only three days are left for the release of the film 'Pushpa 2' i.e. 'Pushpa Part 2'. There is a lot of discussion about the advance booking of this film, but most of the earnings are coming from its Telugu version. Out of the advance booking of 2983 shows of the Telugu version of the film, the 2D version has earned about Rs 10.87 crore, IMAX 2D version Rs 21.39 lakh and 3D version Rs 8.70 lakh. By Monday afternoon, the Telugu version of this film had received advance booking of about Rs 11.17 crore.

The budget of 'Pushpa 2' is said to be more than Rs 400 crore, and it will need an opening of at least Rs 80 crore at the domestic box office, so that this film can take the first step towards becoming a hit. To become a hit, the film will have to earn at least Rs 800 crore at the domestic box office. 'Pushpa Van' had a budget of just Rs 150 crore and it earned around Rs 350 crore at the domestic box office, of which the Hindi version earned around Rs 100 crore. This time the advance booking of the Hindi version of the film is looking good.

Till Monday afternoon, the booking of tickets for the Hindi version of the film's 2D version was Rs 7.69 crore, IMAX 2D Rs 2.56 crore and 3D Rs 28.83 lakh. Overall, the advance booking of the Hindi version has earned around Rs 10.54 crore, which includes booking of 11605 shows. However, the ticket prices of cinemas in the Hindi belt have not increased much, due to which the film's earnings may be affected. On Thursday, the ticket prices ranged from Rs 200 to Rs 600 and in premier cinemas the tickets are up to Rs 3000, but due to the limited number of these seats, it will not have much impact on the film's earnings.

The most surprising figures in the advance booking of the film are of the Malayalam version. Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil is seen as the main villain in the film, but its Malayalam dubbed version has so far done advance booking of only Rs 51.81 lakh. The condition of the Tamil version is even worse, in which advance booking of only Rs 31.93 lakh has been done. The condition of the Kannada version is even worse, in which even the cost of dubbing and distribution of the film is not being recovered. Till Monday afternoon, the advance booking of the Kannada version has been only Rs 88 thousand.
