Diljit Dosanjh addresses black market ticket sales controversy during Indore concert

Singer Diljit Dosanjh performed to a packed venue in Indore on Sunday, delivering an electrifying concert as part of his ongoing Dil-Luminati India Tour. During the event, he took a moment to address the controversy surrounding the illegal sale of tickets for his shows, which had sparked a heated debate among fans and organizers alike. The concert tickets had been illegally sold at exorbitant prices in the black market shortly after they were released on official platforms, leading to widespread outrage and scrutiny.

Diljit, however, was quick to defend himself and the event organizers, stating that the issue of black marketing is not a new phenomenon in India. "This is nothing new. Ever since cinema became popular in India, tickets have been sold in the black market. Now, only the methods have evolved," he said, adding, "So, you can say whatever you want about me, but I have no fear because I am not doing anything wrong."

The singer also expressed his confidence in his standing within the Indian entertainment industry, emphasizing that he is not to blame for the rise of inflated ticket prices or the illegal sales. His bold statement comes at a time when ticket prices for live shows in India are under increasing scrutiny, with many artists and promoters grappling with the complexities of managing both demand and fair pricing.

Diljit also took a moment to praise his fellow Punjabi artists, AP Dhillon and Karan Aujla, who are currently performing in India. He noted how the music scene has evolved, with singers now taking center stage, instead of merely being background players to actors. "Earlier, singers used to sing in the background and actors would just imitate them. Now, those singers have come to the forefront and are making headlines," he remarked.

In a powerful statement about the changing dynamics of India's music industry, Diljit added, "Earlier, tickets for foreign artists' shows were sold in the black market in India, and now it's the tickets for Indian artists' shows that are being sold illegally. This is what we call 'Vocal for Local.'"

Following his successful Indore show, Diljit will perform next in Mumbai and Chandigarh, before wrapping up his tour in Guwahati on December 29. His India tour has been a major success, drawing massive crowds across multiple cities.
