Mrunal Thakur replaces Shruti Haasan in 'Dacoit: A Love Story', Adivi Sesh confirms with a birthday Post

Mrunal Thakur will now replace Shruti Haasan in the upcoming action drama film 'Dacoit: A Love Story'. The information came to light when it was rumoured that Shruti Haasan has quit the film. The film stars Adivi Sesh in the lead role. Though, there has been no official announcement about the same yet, Mrunal's presence in the new poster shared by Adivi Sesh has made it clear that she is a part of the film.

Adivi Sesh recently made a cryptic post on X (former Twitter), after which speculations started that Mrunal Thakur has replaced Shruti Haasan. Adivi posted on Monday at 5:06 pm, "Bachaaya maine usko, lekin chhod gayi, woh kaun hai, kya hai, kal pata jayega (She saved me, but she is gone, who is she, what is she, will know tomorrow)." Through this post, he hinted that the name of the new heroine of the film will be revealed at 11:30 am.

Earlier, there were reports that Shruti Haasan had left the film due to creative differences. Some sources also claimed that Shruti refused to do the film due to Adivi Sesh taking control over the direction of the film. However, there has been no official response from Shruti Haasan or the producers.

Apart from this, another report also stated that the scenes of Shruti Haasan and Adivi Sesh that were shot earlier in the film will be removed and new scenes will be shot with Mrunal Thakur. The film is being directed by Shinal Dev, who is making his debut film. 'Dacoit' is being shot simultaneously in both Telugu and Hindi languages. Deva, who has been the cinematographer of Telugu thrillers such as 'Kshanam' (2016) and 'Goodachari' (2018), helms the film, which tells the story of two former lovers who reunite for a series of heists that could change their lives.
