Varun Dhawan's Baby John makes a strong Box Office debut on day 1, Despite tough competitions

Varun Dhawan's Baby John released with much fanfare on Christmas Day and has taken a great start at the box office. The film has earned Rs 12.5 crore on the first day itself, which is a very good performance for a holiday release. This film marks Varun Dhawan's first 'mass' action avatar, produced by Atlee and directed by Kalees.

Baby John's first day Hindi occupancy was 24.97 percent, which is a good figure. The film got 1046 shows in Delhi-NCR, out of which it got 25.75 percent occupancy, while in Mumbai region it got 801 shows and the occupancy was 26.25 percent. This film is Varun's first release after two years, and his previous film Bhediya earned Rs 7.48 crore on the first day, while JugJugg Jeeyo earned Rs 9.28 crore on the first day.

What makes Baby John special is that it is a pan-Indian entertainer, with a lot of masala elements of South Indian films. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film was heavily promoted and has been receiving positive responses from the audience, especially for its high-octane action scenes and spicy storyline. Interestingly, Baby John was facing tough competition from big films like Mufasa: The Lion King and Pushpa, yet the film made a good collection on the first day, which is estimated to be between Rs 13-15 crore. The film is considered a major achievement as it is led by a new age hero Varun Dhawan, without any franchise or IP.

The film has been successful in bringing audiences to the theatres, and such a good opening of Baby John at the box office proves that Varun Dhawan's popularity and his attraction towards masala films is constantly growing. Baby John can now be watched in theatres and it promises to deliver a great entertainment experience.
