Marathi sequel to Rajesh Khanna's 'Anand' announced on his birth anniversary

A Marathi sequel to Rajesh Khanna's film 'Anand' will be made. This was announced on 29 December, on the birth anniversary of Hindi cinema's legendary actor Rajesh Khanna. The film will be directed by Hemant Kumar Mahale, and will be based on a play of the same name, written by renowned writer Kusumagraj.

When the film's producer Hrishikesh Mukherjee premiered his film 'Anand' in Nashik, he requested Kusumagraj to watch the film with him and then suggested turning it into a play. Kusumagraj had written a play of the same name, and the Marathi film will be based on the same play. The plot of the film will move forward from the end of the Hindi film 'Anand', and the story will begin from where 'Anand' ended.

Many songs of 'Anand' are still in people's hearts, such as 'Kahin Door Jab Din Dhal Jaye', 'Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli', 'Na Jeeya Lage Na', and 'Maine Tere Liye Hi'. The sweetness of these songs and the emotional depth of the film will always be remembered by the audience. Along with Rajesh Khanna (Anand), Amitabh Bachchan (Dr. Bhaskar Banerjee aka Babu Moshai), and Ramesh Dev (Dr. Prakash Kulkarni), actors like Sumita Sanyal, Lalita Pawar, Asit Sen, Dara Singh, Durga Khote, and Johnny Walker played important roles in the film 'Anand'. Actors equivalent to these characters are also being selected for the sequel.

The cinematography of the film will be done by Suresh Suvarna, while the responsibility of music will be on the shoulders of Avinash-Vishwajeet. This film will be made under the banner of Vighnaharta Films. This can prove to be a very special and emotional project for the Marathi film industry, which will not only refresh the beautiful memories of 'Anand', but will also try to connect the new generation with it.
