Mohanlal is currently promoting his film 'Barroz 3D', which he has directed himself. In a recent interaction, he also shared his views on the future of his famous franchise 'Drishyam'. In a conversation with India Today Digital, the superstar also gave his opinion about a possible crossover with Ajay Devgn.

Ajay Devgn played Mohanlal's character in the Hindi remake of 'Drishyam'. When asked about the possibility of a crossover, Mohanlal said, "I have no idea about it." Talking about 'Drishyam 3', Mohanlal said, "I can't say anything about it. The film is still being made. It is not easy to make a good sequel. It is a big challenge. It is very challenging for all of us, but we are in the process of making it. One day the film will be made, I am praying for it." 'Drishyam 2', which was released in 2022, is a Hindi-language crime thriller film directed by Abhishek Pathak. It was a sequel to the 2015 film 'Drishyam', as well as a Hindi remake of the 2021 Malayalam film. The film featured Ajay Devgn again playing the character of Vijay Salgaonkar, while Tabu, Shriya Saran and Akshaye Khanna also played important roles.

The film was released on 18 November 2022 and received tremendous appreciation. It received positive response from the audience and critics for its story and acting. The film performed brilliantly at the box office and was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2022. At the same time, Mohanlal's recent release 'Barroz' is a Malayalam fantasy thriller film. It stars Maya Rao West, Cesar Lorente Ratton, Ignacio Mateos, Kaliroy Giafeta, Neria Camacho and Tuhin Menon in lead roles. The Hindi version of this film was released in theatres on 25 December.
