New twist in Dhanush-Nayanthara dispute: Madras High Court adjourns hearing to January 22

The ongoing dispute between actor Dhanush and actress Nayanthara has now reached a new turn. This dispute is about Nayanthara's documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale, in which some BTS footage from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan was used. Dhanush had expressed his objection to this and filed a legal case against Nayanthara, her husband Vignesh Shivan and Netflix. Now the final hearing of this case has been adjourned by the Madras High Court till January 22. The court fixed this date on the appeal of Netflix, in which he had sought time to present his point of view.

Dhanush said in his complaint that the producer of the documentary has used his BTS footage of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan without his permission, which is a violation of his copyright. She also said that the people making the documentary failed to obtain a NOC (No Objection Certificate) from her, thereby violating her copyright.

The controversy started when Nayanthara released a public statement in which she accused Dhanush of not giving permission to use clips for the documentary. Nayanthara wrote in her open letter, "My fans and well-wishers have been waiting for this documentary. This documentary is the result of the hard work of many people. We waited for your permission for two years, but you did not allow the use of some scenes, songs and pictures from 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan'. Finally, when we could not find a solution to this, we decided to release the documentary with the current version. I am sad that my most special film could not be included in this documentary."

Amidst this entire controversy, talks of an old friendship between the two stars Dhanush and Nayanthara have come to the fore, which has now turned sour. However, the court's decision is awaited, which will decide the future course of action in this case.
