Encounter specialist Daya Nayak takes charge of Saif Ali Khan attack investigation

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was recently injured in an attack, is currently undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai. According to doctors, the actor's condition is stable. Meanwhile, the police have formed ten teams to trace the culprits of the attack. Police officials also investigated Saif Ali Khan's house in Bandra. The team also included encounter specialist Daya Nayak, who was seen investigating the details of the incident.

Daya Nayak is known for dealing with the Mumbai underworld. Daya Nayak has done about 80 encounters in his career. Apart from this, he has also been accused of having assets disproportionate to his income. Bollywood filmmakers have also made some films inspired by his life.

Born in Udupi, Karnataka, Daya Nayak's father's name was Bada Nayak and mother's name was Radha Nayak. He studied till seventh grade from a Kannada-medium school in his village. Then in 1979 he came to Mumbai in search of work. Daya's first job was in a hotel where he used to study on the rooftop while working. He then completed his 12th from a municipal school in Mumbai.

He then graduated from CES College, Andheri. The desire to become a police officer was kindled during his college days when he once had the opportunity to meet some police officers from the Narcotics Department during his work. He was eventually posted as a police sub-inspector at Juhu Police Station after graduating from the Police Academy in 1995. This was the time when the underworld was at its peak in Mumbai.
