Roof collapses during shooting of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar’s 'Mere Husband Ki Biwi' Song at imperial palace; Several injured

A major accident took place during the shooting of a song of the film 'Mere Husband Ki Biwi' at Imperial Palace in Royal Palms, Mumbai. The roof suddenly collapsed on the shooting set, in which actors Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Jacky Bhagnani and director Mudassar Aziz were present. However, no actor or crew member suffered serious injuries in this accident.

Ashok Dubey of Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) told E-Times that the accident happened due to vibrations caused by loud sound during the shooting of the song. He said, "The song was being shot at Imperial Palace, when suddenly the roof of the set collapsed and Arjun Kapoor, Jacky Bhagnani and Mudassar Aziz were injured. Since the shooting was going on here for a long time, vibrations were created due to loud sound, due to which this accident happened."

Vijay Ganguly, who is working on the song of the film, expressed his concern about the safety of the shooting locations. He said, "The shooting went on fine on the first day. On the second day too everything was normal, but around 6 pm, during a shot suddenly the roof started falling. We were on the monitor and suddenly pieces of the roof started falling. Luckily it fell in pieces, and we had a way to escape. If the entire roof had fallen it could have been very dangerous, yet many people were injured. These old locations are often used for shooting. Production companies do check the safety measures, but many times the safety of the shooting location is not checked properly." Giving more information about this accident, Vijay said that in this accident director Mudassar Aziz was injured, DOP Manu Anand's ring was fractured, Vijay himself suffered injuries in his elbow and head, while his camera attendant suffered spinal injury. He stressed that it is very important to follow safety standards before shooting in old and unsafe locations.
