Veteran actor Nagarjuna on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Parliament House and presented him the book 'Akkineni Ka Virat Vyakti' written by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad. The book is dedicated to his father, noted actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Nagarjuna was accompanied by his wife Amala Akkineni, son Naga Chaitanya and daughter-in-law Sobhita Dhulipala during the meeting.
After the meeting, Nagarjuna thanked Prime Minister Modi on his official Twitter account. He wrote in his post, "We are very grateful for meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji today at Parliament House. It was an honour for us to present the book 'Akkineni Ka Virat Vyakti' to the Prime Minister, which is dedicated to the film legacy of our father ANR garu. The appreciation of his life's work is invaluable to our family, fans and Indian cinema lovers. We are extremely grateful for this opportunity." Sobhita Dhulipala also shared pictures with Prime Minister Modi on her Instagram account. In these pictures, PM Modi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya are seen giving gifts to the PM. The actress thanked Prime Minister Modi in her post and wrote, "Heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for today's meeting at Parliament House. It was an honor for us to present the book 'Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktikarana', dedicated to the film legacy of ANR Garu, to the Prime Minister."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to four great artists of Indian cinema - Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Tapan Sinha in his last 'Mann Ki Baat' address of 2024. PM Modi praised Akkineni Nageswara Rao and said, "Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu took Telugu cinema to new heights. His films presented Indian traditions and values very well." After this address of the Prime Minister, Nagarjuna thanked him on social media.
