Akshay Kumar's star is at its peak these days because of “Sky Force" collections, and now another big good news has come for his fans. Today, the release date of the film 'Kesari Chapter 2' has been announced, which will be released in theaters on 18 April 2025. The film was earlier named 'Shankara', but now it will be known as 'Kesari Chapter 2'.

'Kesari Chapter 2' is a biopic, which will be based on the life and works of famous lawyer and freedom fighter Sir Chettur Sankaran Nair. The film is based on the backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and is being produced under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. R. Madhavan and Ananya Pandey will also be seen in lead roles along with Akshay Kumar in the film.

It is interesting that the story of this film is completely different from 'Kesari', yet the makers are naming it 'Kesari' to maintain curiosity and excitement among the audience. Both the films have similar elements of bravery, inspiration and patriotism, and that is probably the reason why it has been renamed as 'Kesari Chapter 2'. The film is inspired by Raghu Palt and Pushpa Palt's book 'The Case That Shook the Empire' and will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.

Talking about the work front, Akshay Kumar has a long list of several big franchise and sequel films lined up at the moment. His 'Jolly LLB 3' will be released on April 10, 2025, followed by 'Housefull 5' on June 6, 2025. Also, films like 'Welcome to the Jungle' and 'Hera Pheri 3' will be released soon.
