Ranveer, Apoorva, and Samay fail to appear before women's commission, New hearing dates issued

The Women's Commission had recently summoned YouTubers including Ranveer Allahabadia, Samay Raina, Apoorva Makhija for making objectionable comments on YouTuber Samay Raina's show 'India Ka Latent'. However, none of these people appeared before the commission. After this, the Women's Commission has set a new date. Apart from Ranveer, Samay and Apoorva, the commission had also summoned content creators and public figures like Jaspreet Singh, Ashish Chanchlani, Tushar Pujari, Saurabh Bothra and Balraj Ghai.

The Women's Commission had ordered all the accused to appear on February 17, 2025 at 12 noon, but according to commission officials, many people gave reasons for being absent citing personal safety, pre-scheduled travel schedule and other reasons.

Ranveer Allahabadia had sought three weeks' relief, saying he had received death threats, following which the commission adjourned his hearing to March 6, 2025. Similarly, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija also appealed to attend the hearing virtually citing security reasons, which was approved and her hearing was also fixed for March 6.

Samay Raina is currently in the US. He has sent an application to the commission in which he assured to attend the hearing after returning to the country, following which his hearing was scheduled for March 11, 2025. Jaspreet Singh has gone on a Paris tour and will return on March 10, his hearing will also be held on March 11. Chanchlani's lawyer named him citing his ailments and his hearing was fixed for March 6. Tushar Pujari and Saurabh Bothra did not respond to the commission's summons, on which the Women's Commission expressed displeasure and has issued summons against them again, which will be on March 6. Balraj Ghai is abroad, his bail plea will be heard on March 11.
