Actress Swara Bhaskar recently posted a post on social media, in which she linked the film Chhaava and the stampede incident in Mahakumbh. There was a controversy over this post, after which Swara has now clarified her position. Swara linked the reaction of the audience of the film Chhaava to the reaction of the people in the Maha Kumbh stampede. After this post of Swara, people reacted strongly to her.
Swara Bhaskar wrote in her first post, "People are angry at the atrocities committed on Hindus 500 years ago being shown through fictional films, but they are not angry at the deaths in the stampede due to poor management in Mahakumbh. The dead bodies there were removed with a bulldozer. This society is mentally and spiritually dead." Through this post, Swara talked about the film Chhaava, in which Vicky Kaushal played the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
Controversy had started over this post of Swara and she received strong reactions. After this, Swara clarified her position on Friday. She wrote, "My tweet sparked a lot of debate and misunderstanding. Without a doubt, I respect the tradition and contribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I am of the opinion that it is okay to glorify our history, but do not use this glorification to hide the mistakes of the present."
Swara Bhaskar further wrote, "If anyone is hurt by my first tweet, then I apologize for that. Just as every Indian is proud of his history, I am also proud of my history. Our history will unite us and give us the strength to struggle for a better tomorrow." It is worth noting that on January 29, on the day of Maghi Amavasya, a huge crowd gathered at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. During this, there was a stampede, in which 30 people died and 60 were injured. Swara tweeted on this incident.
