The 'India Got Latent' case is still in the headlines. Former law student and YouTuber Gaurav Taneja has shared a video on the matter and expressed his views. He called the action taken by the Supreme Court against Ranveer Allahbadia extremely strict. Ranveer Allahbadia's passport has been confiscated.
The controversy in the Ranveer Allahbadia case started when a clip of Samay Raina's YouTube show went viral on social media. In this clip, Ranveer Allahbadia made obscene comments about the parents of a contestant. After this, anger spread among the people and several cases were registered against Ranveer and Samay. FIRs were also registered against all the guests who participated in this show. Gaurav Taneja believes that many parties, including YouTube, will face legal action.
According to Gaurav Taneja, the names of those who did not make obscene comments are also included in the FIR. He said that everyone is equally included under 'common intention'. According to him, this case will set a legal precedent for those who create online content. Gaurav Taneja said that Ranveer Allahbadia had gone to the Supreme Court regarding this matter. He challenged this matter under his freedom of expression, which comes under Article 32. He said that every citizen has the right to freedom of expression, but it also has some limits, like decency and morality.
Last week, the Supreme Court asked Ranveer Allahbadia not to participate in any show until further orders are given. Supreme Court judges Suryakant and NK Singh have condemned this matter. They said that this mentality is wrong and it is shameful for the family and society.
