The film 'Ittefaq' was released in 2017, starring Akshay Khanna, Sonakshi Sinha and Siddharth Malhotra in lead roles. The film was directed by Abhay Chopra and produced by Shah Rukh Khan. Recently, producer Abhay Chopra's mother narrated an interesting anecdote praising Shah Rukh Khan in an interview, in which she told how Shah Rukh produced this film without expecting any profit.
Renu Chopra said in an interview to Pinkvilla, "We were going to make 'Ittefaq', and we decided that we will make the film with Shah Rukh Khan. We wanted to meet Shah Rukh, but he was very busy. Then he called us and asked what we wanted. I said I don't have money. So he said, 'I will invest.' I said my children will make a good film."
Renu further said, "This was the debut film of my younger son Abhay Chopra. Shahrukh had not even read the story. He believes that I invest money in the horse, not in the horse. When the shooting of the film was over, the financier had to pay the interest money. When we tried to give this interest money to Shahrukh, he said that it is haram for me, I cannot take it."
Renu also shared a personal memory related to Shahrukh Khan, in which she told that Shahrukh came to her house when her husband Ravi Chopra was ill. Shahrukh came only to ask about her husband's health and gave him his full sympathy. Renu also said that Shahrukh shared a message of his late father with her, which helped her a lot during difficult times. According to Renu, "Shah Rukh's father told him, 'Do what your heart says and if your heart doesn't want anything, then don't do anything because those who do nothing are the ones who do amazing things.'"
