Akshay Kumar responds to 'Mahakal Chalo' song controversy, defends his devotion to lord Shiva

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has reacted to the controversy surrounding his recently released devotional song 'Mahakal Chalo'. The song has been composed by the actor along with singer Palash Sen and was released ahead of Mahashivratri 2025. There is a scene in the video of the song, in which Akshay is seen hugging a Shivling. Some priest organizations objected to this.

Talking about this controversy, Akshay Kumar, while interacting with the media during the promotion of his upcoming film 'Kannappa' on February 27, said, "Since childhood, my parents have taught me that God is like our parents. So if you hug your parents, what is wrong in it? There can be no harm in it." Defending his devotion, Akshay further said, "If my strength comes from there, then if someone misunderstands my devotion, it is not my fault." Despite this controversy, the song 'Mahakal Chalo' has been well received by his fans.

At the same time, Akshay Kumar is in the news for his upcoming film 'Kannappa', in which he will be seen playing the character of Lord Shiva.
