Ashish Chanchlani appears before Guwahati Police in 'India's Got Latent' case

On Thursday, famous YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Guwahati Police Crime Branch and recorded his statement in a case related to the show 'India's Got Latent'. Complaints were filed against several YouTubers for controversial comments made on the show. After questioning Chanchlani, his legal team filed a petition, appealing to dismiss the FIR or transfer it to Mumbai. The petition also challenges the jurisdiction of the Guwahati Police.

Confirming the matter, Guwahati Joint Police Commissioner Ankur Jain said, "Ashish Chanchlani appeared before the Crime Branch today and cooperated in the interrogation. He has been let go after questioning, although he will not be called again at this time. But the officers can call him back if needed." The police also informed that other accused named in the FIR, Apoorva Mukhija and Jaspreet Singh, have not yet responded to the summons, and new notices will be issued to them soon.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia was also questioned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police earlier this week over his controversial comment on the show 'India's Got Latent'. Ranveer admitted his mistake and said that he did wrong by making this comment and he is facing criticism for it.

The controversy escalated when Ranveer Allahbadia made indecent comments on parents on comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show, after which complaints were filed against several YouTubers. Cases have also been filed against YouTubers Samay Raina, Apoorva Mukhija and others in this matter. The Maharashtra Cyber Cell is investigating the matter and the Supreme Court has also reprimanded Ranveer Allahbadia in this controversy.
