Tamannaah Bhatia denies involvement in cryptocurrency fraud, Calls reports fake and misleading

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has recently reacted strongly to reports claiming that she may be summoned by the Puducherry police in connection with a Rs 2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case. Terming these reports as fake and misleading, the actress also assured that she will take action against such false news.

On Friday (February 28), several media reports claimed that Tamannaah and actress Kajal Aggarwal may be summoned for questioning in connection with the investigation related to the alleged cryptocurrency scam. However, there has been no official confirmation from the authorities about their involvement in the case. Reacting to the matter, Tamannaah told Hindustan Times, "I have received this information that rumours are being spread about me and my involvement. I would like to request the media to please not spread such fake, misleading and false news." She further added, "In the meantime, my team is investigating the matter and taking steps to initiate appropriate action."

In fact, Ashokan, a former soldier from Moolakulam in Puducherry, had filed a complaint against a Coimbatore-based firm, which was set up in 2022. According to his complaint, he was duped in a cryptocurrency investment scheme. Ashokan claims that he invested Rs 1 crore and induced his 10 friends to invest a total of Rs 2.4 crore.

Reports also stated that Ashokan had attended the company's launch event, where Tamannaah was present, and later another event in Mahabalipuram where Kajal Aggarwal was the chief guest. The report also stated that more than 100 investors were given luxury cars worth Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore at the event. Police officials have said that they want clarity from Kajal and Tamannaah on whether they were only promoting the company's programs or were also financially involved in it. Kajal has not yet responded to these reports.
