About five years ago, writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut. On Friday, a settlement was reached between the two in this matter. Both appeared in court regarding this matter. Now, Javed Akhtar gave his response in detail on this matter.
Javed Akhtar recently reacted to the settlement with Kangana and said, "I did not ask for money, I just wanted an apology. Kangana has taken back her words, and she will not repeat anything like this in the future." When Javed Akhtar was asked if he was happy with the resolution of the matter, he said, "No, I will see now. Maybe I will have to face some more trouble." He made this statement in a joking manner. Javed Akhtar is known for his outspoken style and often expresses his views openly on social media or in the media.
On Friday, Kangana herself informed on social media that her legal case with Javed Akhtar has been resolved. Kangana wrote, "Today Javed ji and I settled our defamation case. We have resolved this matter through mediation. Javed ji is a very kind and wonderful person. He has also agreed to write songs for my next film."
This case was after the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020. Kangana had also named Javed Akhtar while mentioning her meeting with Hrithik Roshan in an interview, which Javed Akhtar considered as his defamation and filed a case against Kangana.
