Supreme Court grants relief to Ranveer Allahabadia, allows 'The Ranveer Show' to resume with conditions

Ranveer Allahabadia has got relief from the Supreme Court in the case of his controversial statement in the program 'India's Got Talent'. The Supreme Court has allowed him to resume the broadcast of his show 'The Ranveer Show'. Also, the court also directed that Ranveer maintain decency during his show. This relief was received when Ranveer Allahabadia argued in the Supreme Court that the livelihood of 280 people is linked to his program.

During the hearing in the Supreme Court, the Solicitor General said that he has seen the entire show, in which there is no obscenity, but there is perversion in it. He said that humor and obscenity are different things, but perversion is at another level. Earlier, the Supreme Court had banned the broadcast of 'The Ranveer Show' until further orders come. Ranveer Allahabadia had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this order, in which he said that it is a question of livelihood of 280 employees associated with his program and they should get some relief.

Solicitor General T.Yushar Mehta, appearing for the Maharashtra and Assam governments, opposed Ranveer's plea and asked the Supreme Court to continue the ban on the programme. However, the Supreme Court allowed Ranveer Allahabadia to broadcast 'The Ranveer Show' on the condition that he maintains decency.

The Supreme Court also said that his show should not comment on pending cases in the court. Justice Kant objected to this and said, "An accused went out and made a statement about this case... These young and clever people think they know a lot... We know how to deal with it." However, Ranveer's lawyer claimed that it had nothing to do with Ranveer.

On Ranveer Allahabadia's plea to travel abroad, the Supreme Court said that the petition will remain pending until he joins the investigation. The Supreme Court also clarified that interim protection from arrest will continue, and nothing related to the case can be shown in the show, which may affect the merit of the case.
