India won the title by defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final of the 2025 Champions Trophy. This is India's second consecutive ICC trophy. Earlier, in 2024, Team India also won the T20 World Cup. In this match, New Zealand won the toss and batted first and scored 251 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. In response, India achieved this target by losing six wickets in 49 overs.

Bollywood and South cinema stars congratulated Team India on this great victory. Sonu Sood wrote on social media, "Champions win. Congratulations to our heroes." South superstar Allu Arjun expressed happiness on X and wrote, "Heartiest congratulations to our Blue Brigade on the victory of the Champions Trophy."
Anupam Kher, hearing this news in the flight, wrote, "Reached Mumbai. There was suspense in the flight. Just got to know that India won the 2025 Champions Trophy. Har Har Mahadev. Bharat Mata ki Jai. Hum Hain Vishwa Vijayeta. Jai Hind."

South star Mammootty also expressed happiness over Team India's victory. He wrote, "Congratulations to Team India for a brilliant and strong victory." Sai Dharam Tej also reacted to India's victory. He wrote, "What a great match! Congratulations to Team India on this great victory." Arun Govil also expressed happiness and wrote, "India created history by winning the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Brilliant play and strong teamwork brought this victory. The whole country is feeling proud. Jai Hind, Jai Bharat, Jai Shri Ram."
