A case has been registered against social media influencer Orry aka Orhan Awatramani. Recently, he went on a pilgrimage to visit Mata Vaishno Devi, where he is accused of drinking alcohol at the base camp in Katra. The police have registered a case against Orry and eight others.
According to news agency ANI, Jammu and Kashmir Police said that an FIR has been registered against eight people including Orry for drinking alcohol at a hotel in Katra. According to the police, Orry and his companions were drinking alcohol at the base camp of Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra, which is completely prohibited at this holy place. Apart from this, non-vegetarian food is also prohibited here. Orry has been accused of hurting religious sentiments for this act.
This controversy started when Orry shared his photo drinking alcohol at a hotel in Katra in one of his Instagram posts. It was only after this post that the police started action and registered a case. Following this, an FIR was registered against Orry and his other associates at the Katra police station. The other accused who have been named in the case include Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Hrithik Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli and a Russian national Anastasia Arzamaskina. All of them have been charged with hurting religious sentiments and violating the orders of the District Magistrate.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has taken strict action in this case, as alcohol and non-vegetarian food are completely banned near the religious place in the area. Now the police investigation is going on and further action can be taken against the accused.
