Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's former manager Disha Salian's father on Wednesday filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking an investigation into Disha's mysterious death in 2020. Satish Salian has sought an FIR against Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray and has also appealed for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the case. His lawyer Nilesh Ojha said that the petition will be filed on Thursday.
The petition alleges that Disha Salian was brutally raped, murdered and there was a political conspiracy behind it. The petition claims that the aim was to spread lies, corruption and suppress facts to save some influential people. The petition also said that initially Satish Salian had faith in the Mumbai Police investigation, but now he understood that the investigation was just a cover-up. The petition alleged that the police hastily registered a case by considering Disha's death as a suicide or accidental death, while ignoring forensic evidence, witness statements and other crucial facts.
The petition claimed that Disha's death was neither an accident nor a suicide, as stated by the authorities. Rather, it was a case of premeditated violence in which Disha was brutally raped and murdered. The actions of the accused and immediate political interference in the investigation clearly show that there was a deliberate and systematic attempt to suppress the truth. Defending the delay in filing the petition, Satish Salian said that he was extremely grief-stricken after his daughter's death and was constantly misled by prominent persons who spread false stories to protect the accused. Further, the petition names Aditya Thackeray, besides some actors who were present at the party, which was earlier considered only a private matter attended by Disha Salian's friends.
It is worth noting that Disha Salian was found dead on 8 June 2020 after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Malad. After this incident, the police registered an ADR (Accidental Death Report) considering it an accidental death. Six days later, on 14 June 2020, actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment. Initially, the police had termed it a case of suicide, but later the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI.
