Sri Lanka's famous film 'Tantigo' will now be made in Hindi. It is a comedy film, which will now be adapted in Hindi under the banner of True Story Films. 'Tantigo' was first shown at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in 2023, where it also received the Special Jury Award.
For the Hindi version, the film will be produced by Crawling Angel Films and True Story Films, and co-produced by Sanjay Gulati and Neeraj Pandey. Famous casting director Mukesh Chhabra will also join the film and serve as a producer. The Hindi story of the film will be adapted by Karan Vyas, who is famous for projects like 'Scam 1992' and 'Scoop'.
Regarding the Hindi version of the film, film director Hansal Mehta said, "I am usually against making remakes, but this film really excited me. When I saw the Sri Lankan film 'Tantigo', I could not stop laughing. I am confident that its Hindi version will be loved by audiences all over India. I am very happy to bring it to the audience." Casting director Mukesh Chhabra also said, "Since Shahid, I have had the privilege of working with Hansal Mehta as a casting director. I am excited about this new chapter."
Sanjay Gulati said, "In the last 10 years, all the films I have been associated with have premiered at many film festivals. 'Tantigo' is a comedy film that usually challenges the label of 'festival film'. Through this adaptation, I will try to break out of such definitions." This film will bring a new and funny journey to the Indian audience, and fans are very excited about its Hindi adaptation.
