On Thursday, Aamir Khan’s sister Nikhat attended the trailer launch event of her upcoming Malayalam film 'L2: Empuraan' in Mumbai. During the event, Nikhat spoke to Times Upload Trends and gave her reaction to Aamir Khan and Gauri's relationship. She said, "We are very happy for both Aamir and Gauri, because Gauri is a very nice person, and we want both of them to be happy forever."

Interestingly, Aamir was also mentioned on the stage of the trailer launch event. When the film's director Prithviraj Sukumaran praised Nikhat's work, he told the media, "I did not know that she is Aamir sir's sister. I know Aamir sir very well. When the audition tapes came, I told my casting director Priyatama that I want Nikhat. Priyatama said, 'Yes, she is fantastic, by the way she is also Aamir sir's sister.' I said, 'Really?' Then I called Aamir sir. Aamir Khan messaged me and asked, 'Is my sister good in the film?' I said, 'Sir, she is not just good, but even better.'"

Last Thursday, Aamir Khan surprised the media and fans when he introduced Gauri publicly at his pre-birthday party. The two, while interacting with the media, revealed that they have been dating for the last 18 months. Gauri is from Bangalore. According to her LinkedIn profile, Gauri has studied from Blue Mountain School and has done her F.D.A. Styling and Photography Fashion Course from University of Arts, London in 2004. Apart from this, she also runs 'BeBlunt' salon in Mumbai.
