Prithviraj Sukumaran credits nepotism for his frst film, Says it was due to his surname

South Indian actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has made a name for himself in the film industry. He is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'L2 Empuraan' and is constantly promoting the film. Prithviraj has won the hearts of many audiences with his acting, but if his words are to be believed, he says that it all happened because of nepotism. In a recent interview, Prithviraj talked about his father's legacy and its impact on his career.

Prithviraj is the son of late Sukumaran, a superstar of Malayalam cinema in the 70s and 80s. Although his father passed away in 1997, and Prithviraj had not even started his acting career then, the actor believes that his name proved to be helpful for his career. In an interview, Prithviraj said, "I got my first film only because of my surname. I am a complete nepotism product."

Currently, Prithviraj is promoting his directorial film 'L2: Empuraan'. It is a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster film 'Lucifer', which stars Mohanlal in the lead role and Prithviraj will be seen in an extended cameo. The film will also feature several big names from Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi cinema in pivotal roles. 'L2: Empuraan' will be released on March 27.

'L2: Empuraan' is being touted as the biggest Malayalam film ever, both in terms of scale and budget. The film has had a great opening at the ticket window ever since the advance bookings began. As per reports, the film sold nearly one lakh tickets in the first hour, which is the biggest ever figure for an Indian film. By the end of Friday, 'Empuraan' grossed Rs 5 crore from advance bookings. It is to be noted that the advance bookings outside Kerala have not yet begun, and this is a good sign for the film.
