Emraan Hashmi is celebrating his 46th birthday today (March 24) and on this special occasion, he has given a big surprise to his fans. The actor has announced the sequel of his 2007 film 'Awarapan', titled 'Awarapan 2'. The film also featured Shriya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma in lead roles. Although 'Awarapan' proved to be a flop at the box office, over time the film has gained a cult status and its songs are still popular among the audience.
Emraan has shared a video showing some scenes from 'Awarapan', and at the end of the video it is shown that his character Shivam wakes up. At the end of 'Awarapan', Emraan's character Shivam dies, after which the audience is wondering whether he will survive or the story will be taken forward in the sequel. However, it is not yet clear whether the story of 'Awarapan 2' will be connected to the first film or a new turn will be taken.
The release date of the film has also been revealed. 'Awarapan 2' will be released in theaters next year, i.e. on 3 April 2026. Imran Khan shared this video while announcing the sequel on social media and wrote in the caption, 'Bas mujhe kuch aur darr zinda rak...Awarapan 2 in theaters, 3 April 2026.'
Interestingly, last year Imran and Shriya were seen together in Disney Plus Hotstar's series 'Show Time'. Although they were not together, there were many scenes of both, which the audience was very happy to see. Imran Khan will be in the lead role in 'Awarapan 2', but the makers have not yet announced the name of the lead actress.
