Shekhar Kapoor accuses prime video of altering 'Bandit Queen'; Platform denies changes

A few days ago, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor accused the OTT platform Prime Video of making changes in his popular film 'Bandit Queen' without his permission. Shekhar Kapoor also said that due to these changes, his film is now out of its identity. Subsequently, Prime Video has clarified its position on these allegations and said that the director's allegations have been misunderstood.

A spokesperson of Prime Video said in his explanation, "There has been no change in the version of the film 'Bandit Queen' available on Prime Video. The film's presentation has been ensured by the film's distributor NH studio."

A few days ago, Shekhar Kapoor alleged in one of his posts that 'Bandit Queen' available on prime video is not matching the identity of his film. He also said that so many changes have been made in the film that now it does not seem like his film, and it is all done without his permission. Shekhar Kapoor also questioned whether we are less than Western directors? Will they dare to cut Chris Nolan's film without his permission?

The film, released in 1994, was based on the life of the film Phoolan Devi. The film was equally appreciated by the audience and critics. In the film, Seema Biswas played Phoolan Devi. Apart from this, actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Nirmal Pandey also played important roles in the film.
