Kangana Ranaut hits back at Kunal Kamra over Eknath Shinde controversy, Calls venue demolition 'Completely Legal'

Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut recently slammed comedian Kunal Kamra over his comments against a Maharashtra politician. Without naming the politician, Kunal called him a 'gaddar', a term often used by the opposition due to his differences with the Shiv Sena, which led to the formation of the current government in Maharashtra.

Reacting to Kunal's statement, Kangana defended Eknath Shinde and criticised the comedian's jokes. Speaking to the media outside Parliament on Tuesday (March 25), she said, "Whether you agree with someone or not, making fun of someone, especially an incident that happened to me illegally, is not right. I will not compare this incident to that incident because that was illegal while this is completely legal."

Kangana was probably referring to the 2020 incident when her Mumbai office was demolished by the BMC after a dispute with the Shiv Sena government. Kangana praised Eknath Shinde's journey from being an auto-rickshaw driver to becoming the state's deputy chief minister. She said, "Shinde ji used to drive a rickshaw earlier and today he has reached a high position on the basis of his qualifications, but these people are making fun of him. What qualifications do these people have? What have they achieved in life?"

In fact, on March 23, where Kunal Kamra protested, Eknath Shinde's supporters vandalized the place. Shiv Sena workers also reached Khar police station and filed a complaint against Kunal. After this, Kunal reacted to the controversy and said that making fun of political leaders and the political system is not against the law, and he refused to apologize.
