The name they want to keep and the one they don't want to keep is their personal decision. If I change my name from Arya Babbar to Arya or Rajesh tomorrow, I will still be Babbar." Talking further on this topic, Arya said, "You can change the name, but not your identity. I will remain Babbar, because my identity will remain the same. The boy will understand it the way he thinks. Whatever I had to say, I have said it." On the news going on in the media and people's comments, Arya said, "We are a family that lives a public life, so people will say something or the other. We cannot do anything about it. All this is a part of this industry. After all, we are public figures."

Earlier, Prateik Babbar had said in a conversation with Times of India, "I don't care about its result. The feeling I get on hearing this name is what matters. I want to be completely connected to my mother's name and her legacy. I don't think that legacy needs to be sullied with another name. I want to be like my mother, not like my father." Prateik has now changed his name to Prateik Smita Patil. Although Prateik has removed the name Babbar, his name still appears as Prateik Patil Babbar on his official Instagram account.
