The controversy over Kunal Kamra's comedy video is not going to die down. A parody song made by Kamra on a Maharashtra leader angered many people across the country, following which Shiv Sena youth wing workers on Tuesday put up Kamra's picture outside a public toilet in Indore.
The Shiv Sena leader threatened Kunal Kamra saying that if he comes to Madhya Pradesh, his face will be blackened and he will be paraded on the streets. The protest was held outside a public toilet in Bengali Square, where Shiv Sena workers raised slogans against the 36-year-old comedian. Despite the controversy, Kunal Kamra stuck to his stand and refused to apologise.
According to PTI, Anurag Sonar, president of the Madhya Pradesh unit of Shiv Sena's youth wing, said, "Kamra serves filth to the public in the name of comedy. We are protesting by putting up his picture here against his cheap mentality. If he ever comes to Madhya Pradesh, Shiv Sena workers will blacken his face and parade him on the streets." Kunal Kamra had kicked up a political storm after he changed the lyrics of a popular Hindi film song on his show to take a dig at the leader's political career. On Tuesday, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said Kunal Kamra will not bow down to anyone. "I know Kamra. Our DNA is the same. He is a warrior," Sanjay Raut was quoted as saying by PTI. "He will not apologise. If action has to be taken against him, legal steps will have to be taken."
Kunal Kamra has said he will not apologise for his controversial remarks against the leader and also criticised the vandalism carried out at the venue in Mumbai where his comedy show was recorded. According to PTI, Kamra called the Shiv Sena leader a traitor and sang a parody of him during his performance, which took place at the Habitat Comedy Club, Unicontinental Hotel, Khar area.
