Popular actor Shreyas Talpade was embroiled in controversy on Thursday when he was accused of being involved in a chit fund scam worth crores in Uttar Pradesh. However, on Friday, his team issued an official statement calling these allegations completely baseless and said that Shreyas has nothing to do with this scam.

Shreyas' team denied these reports and said, "In today's time, a person's hard-earned reputation can be tarnished due to false rumours, which is extremely unfortunate. These allegations being leveled against Shreyas Talpade are completely baseless and false." The statement further said, "Shreyas is a popular personality and like many other celebrities, he is also invited to attend various corporate and annual events. His presence cannot be construed as having any connection with any illegal activity."

The team also clarified that the actor is not involved in any illegal activity. "Shreyas is a responsible citizen and always believes in maintaining honesty, integrity and professional values. We request everyone to avoid spreading misinformation and forward any news only after confirming it."

It is worth noting that on Thursday, some media reports claimed that Shreyas Talpade's involvement has come to light in a chit fund scam in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. In this scam, naive villagers were lured to invest by promising quick and high profits. When people realized the truth of this scam, the accused fled from the spot. However, Shreyas's team has made it clear that he has nothing to do with this scam.
