According to the CBI report, Sushant Singh Rajput's death was not the result of any conspiracy, but it was a direct case of suicide. The report also made it clear that the initial investigation of the Bandra Police was in the right direction and they did not commit any negligence. The Bandra Police had registered an ADR (Accidental Death Report) in this case and investigated it for 46 days, after which the case was handed over to the CBI. However, at that time many Bollywood celebrities had questioned the police investigation and accused them of not working in the right direction. But now that the CBI's closure report has come out, a Bandra police officer investigating the case said that they are satisfied with the CBI's report and are happy that the CBI has expressed confidence in their investigation. However, he also said that this conclusion should have been reached earlier, as it has been five years since the incident.
On March 22, 2025, the CBI filed its closure report in a special court in Mumbai in this case. The report also stated that actress Rhea Chakraborty was not found guilty of inciting Sushant to commit suicide. Also, the final report of the CBI made it clear that the real cause of Sushant's death was suicide.
