Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra, surrounded by controversies, has made a new tweet on Wednesday, in which he has apologized in a satirical manner. Kunal wrote, "I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience that attending my show has caused to you. Please email me so that I can schedule your next vacation anywhere you’d like in India."
In fact, recently Kunal Kamra made several controversial statements during her stand-up comedy show, due to which investigation is going on against her. In this case, the Mumbai Police issued notice to the audience who were present during the show. These viewers also included a Mumbai banker who was on a trip to Tamil Nadu and Kerala at that time. When the police sent a notice to them, they had to leave their journey in the middle and return to Mumbai and testify. Now in his tweet, Kunal Kamra has apologized to the same banker and spoke to sponsor his journey.
Earlier, Maharashtra Police issued a third summons to Kunal Kamra. The police have directed him to appear at Khar Police Station, Mumbai for questioning on 5 April. According to the police, an FIR was lodged against 36 -year -old Kamra last month and he has been summoned twice before, but he has not appeared before the police till now.
Amidst the controversy, Comedian and Bollywood screenwriter and lyricist Varun Grover has supported Kunal Kamra. He lashed out at the Mumbai Police on sending summons to the people involved in the show, saying that the police themselves should join the show and give their verdict on those jokes instead of interrogating the audience.
Significantly, Kunal Kamra recently commented on a Maharashtra leader, after which Shiv Sena workers vandalized the studio where his program was held. In this case, separate FIRs have been lodged against Kunal, in Mumbai and other cities of Maharashtra, especially Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's stronghold Thane.
