Fawad Khan's bollywood comeback sparks controversy, MNS opposes 'Abir Gulaal' release

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan is making a comeback to Indian films after a long gap. His new film is named 'Abir Gulaal', in which he will share the screen with Vaani Kapoor. The teaser of this film was released on Tuesday, April 1. However, even before the release of the film, protests have started in India. The reason for this is the presence of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the film, over which Raj Thackeray's party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has protested.

Raj Thackeray's party MNS has clearly said that it will strongly oppose the release of this film. According to news agency PTI, on Wednesday, MNS announced that it will not allow 'Abir Gulaal' to be released in India, as Pakistani actors are working in it. Amey Khopkar, president of the cinema wing of MNS, shared a post on the social media platform X and wrote that despite making it clear many times that the party will not allow films with Pakistani actors to be released in India, still some 'rotten mangoes' try to break this rule. Khopkar wrote, "MNS workers will have to throw these in the dustbin and we will keep doing so. We will not let 'Abir Gulaal' release in Maharashtra. Those who want to please Pakistani artists can do so, but they will have to deal with us."

It is worth noting that 'Abir Gulaal' is going to be released in theaters on May 9. This film is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi. Talking about Fawad Khan, he made his Bollywood debut in 2016 with the film 'Kapoor and Sons'. In the same year, he was also seen in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions' film 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'. Now after about eight years, he is making a comeback in Indian cinema. However, the controversy regarding his comeback is increasing.
