Film and TV actress Hansika Motwani is once again in the headlines. The controversy started when her former sister-in-law and TV actress Muskaan Nancy James filed an FIR against Hansika, her mother Jyoti Motwani and brother Prashant Motwani on serious charges like domestic violence, mental harassment and intimidation. Muskaan was married to Prashant, but the two got divorced in the year 2022.
Now Hansika Motwani and her mother have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking quashing of the FIR. On this petition, the High Court bench, consisting of Justices Sarang Kotwal and S.M. Modak has fixed the date of hearing on July 3 and issued notice to the concerned parties.
According to media reports, Hansika has said in the petition that this FIR has been filed out of malice. She claims that she had given Rs 27 lakh for organizing Muskaan and Prashant's wedding, which has not been returned till now. This amount was given to the wedding organizers, and now Hansika is only asking for her money back.
Hansika also said that the allegations leveled against her are baseless and efforts are being made to defame her by giving a criminal colour to the family dispute. She clarified that she was not directly involved in her brother's marital problems and is being dragged into this dispute only because she is Prashant's sister.
It is worth noting that in February 2024, Hansika and her mother got anticipatory bail from the Mumbai Sessions Court. Now she is pleading with the High Court to quash the FIR, so that she and her family can get relief from unnecessary legal troubles.
