R. Madhavan talks about his powerful negative role in Kesari Chapter 2: 'I want the audience to hate my character'

R. Madhavan is one of the few Bollywood actors who has proved himself in every kind of role. Be it a negative role or a romantic one, Madhavan has completely dedicated himself to every character. This time he will be seen playing an important negative role in the film "Kesari Chapter 2" directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar. The trailer of the film was launched on April 3, and on this occasion Madhavan spoke openly about his character and the film.

In Kesari Chapter 2, Madhavan is playing the role of Neville McKinley, a lawyer who helps uncover the history of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film offers a historical glimpse of the Indian freedom struggle and the struggle against British rule. Talking about the film, Madhavan said, "When I choose a film, I first pay attention to what is the purpose of that film. Kesari Chapter 2 is an important story and I am happy to be associated with it."

Madhavan also said, "This is a subject that needed to be told. When I was doing this film, I realized that the Jallianwala Bagh massacre was one of the biggest massacres in the world. This is a subject that we study in school since childhood, but as we grow up, we understand its importance and sadness. It does not matter to me whether my character is negative or positive in this film. My goal is just to play such a character that people hate me."

Madhavan pleasantly surprised the audience with his negative role in Shaitan, and now he will be seen in another strong negative character in "Kesari Chapter 2". Apart from this, in his recent release "Test" also, he has played his character in a great way, due to which he is getting a lot of praise. Seeing his acting, it would not be wrong to say that Madhavan has mastered negative shades. Madhavan says that he wants to play any character in such a way that the audience connects with his character and dislikes him. He also shared, “I think if you play a negative role so well that people start hating you, it means you have completely immersed yourself in your character.”

The audience response to his role in Kesari Chapter 2 has also been encouraging. The film will release in theatres on 18 April 2025, and fans are extremely excited to see this new negative avatar of Madhavan. Madhavan's film journey and commitment to his characters definitely enhances his talent even more.
