Along with the post, Akshay wrote, "This is not a costume, it is a symbol - of tradition, of resistance, of truth, of my nation. C Shankaran Nair fought the British Empire with law, not with weapons and he had fire inside him. This 18th April, we are going to bring to you a case that was never taught in books."

The story of the film 'Kesari Chapter 2' is inspired by true events, which shows the situation after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the legal battle fought for justice. Ananya Pandey and R. Madhavan will also be seen in lead roles along with Akshay in the film. The film will be released in theaters on 18 April 2025.
