Soha Ali Khan reacts to BCCI's decision to retire pataudi trophy, Calls it disappointing

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's father and former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi was not only one of the best cricketers of his time, but he also played an important role in getting the Indian cricket team international recognition. Recently, after the news of BCCI and England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) discontinuing the Pataudi Trophy, his family's reaction has come to the fore on this issue. First actress Sharmila Tagore expressed grief over this decision and now her daughter Soha Ali Khan has also expressed her displeasure over it.

Soha Ali Khan said in a conversation with Zoom, "It is disappointing for us that they are considering or have already retired the Pataudi Trophy. My father has made a huge contribution to Indian cricket. He created a sense of unity and pride among Indians. He won the first overseas Test match for India and did many historic things. I think he should definitely be remembered in some form or the other. Hopefully BCCI will reconsider this and find another way."

Earlier, Sharmila Tagore had also said that she was hurt by this decision. She had said, "I did not receive any news from the BCCI, but the ECB sent a letter to Saif informing him that they are retiring this trophy. Now the BCCI should decide whether they want to honor the legacy of Tiger (Pataudi) or not."

It is worth noting that the Pataudi Trophy was named after Nawab Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, who played Test cricket for both India and England. Later his son Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi captained the Indian team. On the other hand, talking about Soha Ali Khan's work, she was last seen in the web series 'Hush Hush' and will soon be seen in the film 'Chhori 2'
