During that time he told me that he was going to do a film based on a Paralympic swimmer." This film was later released as *Chandu Champion.

Sushant had described the story of Murlikant Petkar as inspirational in 2016 and expressed his desire to make a film on it. Unfortunately, this dream remained unfulfilled after his death. The film's producers Kabir Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala entrusted Kartik Aryan with the task of fulfilling this unfulfilled dream. Kartik worked hard for this role. He did a thorough study to understand the life of Murlikant Petkar and also prepared himself physically.
