Supreme Court completes investigation into Ranveer Allahbadia; Passport hearing scheduled for April 28

The Supreme Court on Monday heard the case of objectionable comments made on the YouTube show 'India's Got Latent' against popular YouTuber Ranveer Alhabdia aka Beer Biceps. The court said that the investigation of the FIR registered in Mumbai has been completed, although the charge sheet has not been filed yet. The statement of a co-accused is yet to be recorded in the FIR registered in Guwahati.

The Supreme Court has fixed the hearing on April 28 on Ranveer's petition, in which he has appealed to return his passport. Earlier, on March 3, the court had allowed Ranveer to resume 'The Ranveer Show', but with strict conditions. The court had said that the show will have to take full care of 'morality and decency' and it should be suitable for viewers of all age groups. Also, it was made clear that Ranveer should not put any such content in his show, which would affect the legal cases going on against him.

Ranveer Alhabdia was embroiled in controversy when he made objectionable comments on parents and sexual relations in comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show 'India's Got Latent'. After this comment, there was an uproar on social media and people called it obscene and shameful for society. After this, several FIRs were registered against Ranveer in Mumbai, Guwahati and Jaipur.

The Supreme Court has given Ranveer relief from arrest, but with some conditions. The court has said that Ranveer will have to cooperate in the investigation and submit his passport to the police station. He will not be able to go abroad without the permission of the court. Also, no new FIR will be registered against him regarding old cases. The Supreme Court has issued a notice on Ranveer's petition. Whenever Ranveer is called for questioning, he will have to join the investigation. From now on, no new FIR will be registered against Ranveer on the same charges. Ranveer has also got relief from arrest on the FIR registered in Jaipur. Ranveer will have to submit his passport to the police station. He will not be able to go out of the country without the permission of the court. Ranveer and his friends will not do the show 'India's Got Talent' till further orders.

The Supreme Court reprimanded the YouTuber for vulgar comments. The court has said that his mind is full of filth. He is insulting his parents. Justice Suryakant said, "Have you got a license in the name of art? His language was insulting and objectionable. Lawyer Chandrachud said - different FIRs are being registered for the same comment, it is a misuse of the legal process. Justice Suryakant said that the words you have chosen will shame your parents, sisters will be ashamed. The whole society will be ashamed. This is a perverted mentality.

Ranveer's lawyer said that his mother is a doctor. People are reaching the clinic and abusing him. The court called it shameful. Justice M Koteshwar Singh said that he is sure that if the police are calling him for questioning, they will provide the necessary security. Ranveer appeared as a guest judge in Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Talent'. He asked a contestant a question related to intimacy between parents. As soon as the clip of Ranveer's vulgar comment went viral, he started getting trolled. He has apologized twice in this matter. But people's anger has not subsided.
