Should Vaani Kapoor–Fawad Khan starrer 'Abir Gulaal' release in India after Pahalgam Attack? Debate intensifies

The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir has plunged the entire country into deep mourning. 26 innocent people lost their lives in this attack and many were injured. In such an environment, the controversy over the upcoming film 'Abir Gulaal' starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan and Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor is deepening. People on social media are demanding a ban on this film.

It is being said that 'Abir Gulaal', which is a cross-border romantic drama, is going to be released in theaters on May 9. This film is directed by Aarti S. Bagri. But after the tragic incident of Pahalgam, there is a wave of anger on social media. Many users tweeted, “Abir Gulaal will not be allowed to be released in any theatre in India.” Another questioned, “Will we still allow films made with Pakistani artists to be screened in India?”

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has also protested against the film. The party has reiterated its old stand and said that Pakistani artists should not be allowed to work in India. The party has warned distributors and theatre owners across the state not to release this film, otherwise they will have to face the consequences. At present, the protest against ‘Abir Gulaal’ is continuously increasing. In such a situation, it remains to be seen whether the film is released on the scheduled date or it will face more opposition.
