The fourth installment of 'Krrish' is officially in development, with Hrithik Roshan stepping into the director’s chair and Yash Raj Films onboard as the production partner. This collaboration has significantly heightened industry buzz and raised expectations for what promises to be one of Bollywood’s most ambitious projects to date. Adding to the excitement, we now hear 'Krrish 4' is set to elevate Indian superhero cinema to unprecedented heights with a groundbreaking concept.
PeepingMoon.com has exclusively learned that 'Krrish 4' will be centered around the concept of time travel, marking a bold evolution for the franchise. “Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan have spent years conceptualizing the next chapter of the 'Krrish' saga, and they’ve finally zeroed in on a narrative that is both mind-bending and groundbreaking. This film will be a science fiction spectacle unlike anything seen before in Indian cinema. Time travel serves as the backbone of the plot, propelling the story into uncharted territory and positioning 'Krrish 4' as a global cinematic outing,” a source close to the development told us.
One of the most exciting elements tied to this time travel storyline is the return of Jadoo, the beloved alien from 'Koi... Mil Gaya' (2003), the film that marked the genesis of the 'Krrish' universe. While specific plot details remain in an underground experimental facility, and it's yet unknown how exactly the element of time travel comes into play, sources indicate that the film will also see the return of key characters from earlier installments. Priyanka Chopra, Preity Zinta, and Rekha are all expected to reprise their roles, bridging narrative threads across timelines. Hrithik will once again portray multiple characters, including Rohit Mehra — Krrish’s father — who was presumed dead at the end of 'Krrish 3' (2013). His character is said to appear at a pivotal moment in the story, enabled by the film’s time-bending premise.
We also heard that Hrithik is contemplating an open-ended conclusion for 'Krrish 4', potentially setting the stage for future iterations of the franchise. “By the time the film releases, Hrithik will be in his mid-50s, and he’s exploring the possibility of passing the superhero mantle to a new character. However, these considerations are only in the ideation stage right now,” the source further added.
Meanwhile, the pre-production for 'Krrish 4' is going on in full swing at Yash Raj Films, with plans to take it into production in the first quarter of 2026. This is being billed as one of the most ambitious and expensive Bollywood films to date, and Hrithik, Rakesh Roshan, and Aditya Chopra are set to leave no stone unturned to mount it on the largest scale possible and deliver a visual cinematic experience that rivals international superhero blockbusters.
